Q : Can we add young people to an existing booking?
A : If you need to make any amendments to your booking, please contact admin and ensure you use your booking ref number.
Q : How old do I need to be to come as a participant?
A : To attend NORJAM as a participant, you need to be a member of Scouting or Guiding aged 10 to 17 years old. If you are 18 years old or over, then you could join us as a staff member. Click here to view the staff role page or click here to go straight to the booking system.
Q : What support do International groups receive?
A : NORJAM takes great pleasure in welcoming international groups as well as groups based in the UK. If you need any assistance, please email our International Team and they will be happy to answer your questions.
Q : What payments do I need to make for my contingent and when?
A : A full breakdown of fees and when they are due can be found on the fees page of the website. Each group will have a different amount they need to pay depending on their contingent numbers so please contact Admin directly if you are unsure.
Q : How do we make payments for our Jamboree fees?
A : You can pay your fees via BACS, Cheque or IBAN. Full details of payment options are contained within your booking email.
Q : Does our booking include a free t-shirt? What does our fee include?
A : NORJAM has worked very hard this time to keep the fees as low as possible but provide the best Jamboree experience. With this in mind, there will be no free issue T-Shirts. You will receive a subcamp scarf and a NORJAM badge. T-Shirts are available to purchase from the NORJAM website, or there will be limited stock onsite at the jamboree.
Q : How much does it cost to attend as staff?
A : NORJAM staff fees are £25. More information can be found on the fees page of the website.
Q : Is staff catering available?
A : Staff catering is available at a cost of £75. We have a limited number of staff catering spaces so you will be asked to book and pay in full for this when you register as staff. If you would like to add Staff Catering to an existing booking then please contact admin.
Q : Are staff applications open?
A : Yes. Please visit the staff booking page to register and a member of your chosen team will be in touch.
Q : What colour is clothing available in?
A : The official NORJAM clothing is purple. Visit our website to see the range of clothing we have available.
Q : Can I collect my online clothing order at NORJAM?
A : NORJAM has acted on feedback from previous jamborees and introduced online ordering. We are unable to arrange collections of goods unless you are an international contingent and the collection has been pre-arranged.
Q : What is the postage cost for my online clothing order?
A : All postage costs are detailed within the online ordering system. Please see postage information here.
Q : How do I know what size to order?
A : Each item has a custom size chart. Please review your item when ordering. See this example.
Q : Are we able to hire camping equipment from you or do we need to bring our own?
A : All participants and staff will need to provide their own camping equipment.
Q : Can I bring my car on site?
A : NORJAM only permits pre-authorised vehicles onsite. If you have a requirement for your vehicle to be on site, please contact the Essential Services team and they will get back to you.
Q : Can I bring a caravan?
A : Only staff members can bring caravans onsite and these will be located in a designated area away from campers. NORJAM cannot provide electricity to any caravans.
Q : Can I bring my dog to NORJAM?
A : NORJAM will only permit assistance dogs.
Q : Can I cook on an open fire?
A : No open fires – Gas cooking only. Please refer to the Health and Safety information for further details.
Q : Is there a cash machine or a bank onsite?
A : NORJAM does not operate a bank. There are cash machines located at a local supermarket less than 1 mile away from the Jamboree site.
Q : Do I need to bring a fire extinguisher?
A : Yes. Please refer to the Health and Safety information for further details.
Q : Will there be payment card readers at NORJAM for purchases?
A : There will be card readers in the Emporium onsite shop however not accept all payment card types may be accepted. Cash is preferred.
