Volcano Teide in Tenerife is the second most visited national park in the entire world. At more than 3’000 metres above sea level it casts the largest sea shadow in the world.
Carnival Queen costumes are full scale builds weighing 500kg and often have wheels. Think Masked Singer but even bigger! The theme for 2025 is the Spirit of Africa.
The Canary bird was named after the islands – not the other way round! The name means ‘canine‘ as the first settlers were said to be greeted by dogs but some believe these were seals!

At our subcamp you will find the flora ‘n fauna of Tenerife (Canaries & Sardines!), the streets and spirit of Tenerife with music and how the 2025 theme of the Spirit of Africa has inspired us.
Our Carnival is all about having fun and no matter who you are, we’ll have you partying like a carnival Queen!

Hi! I’m Rose, a deputy subcamp leader on Santa Cruz and c/b day lead! I’ve been a Brownie leader for 2 years now and a Scout team member for just shy of 6 years. This will be my first ever Norjam which I’m very excited for. I’m looking forward to having fun with my team and all the memories I’m going to make!

It’s the perfect chance to catch up with familiar faces and make new friends while creating lasting memories. This will be my 6th Norjam and I can’t wait!
When I’m not plotting and planning Norjam I’m a proud Rainbow, Brownie, and Guide leader in Norfolk, with a few years experience under my belt, having joined as a Brownie and never left – due to the amazing experiences and opportunities that I’ve enjoyed the along the way. This summer’s Norjam will be one more to add to the list, I can’t wait!
